I work in senior living because of my mother. She lived in a nursing home while all of us kids were spread out, living far away. The staff there loved her like she was their own mother or grandmother. They worked with her to play practical jokes on each other — and they had a grand old time together.
We only found out about these shenanigans after she passed away, when the staff told us all the stories. Two of her favorite nurse's aides came to her funeral on their own time. They brought our family a photograph of themselves with her and asked that we put it in her casket with her.

That moment became my motivating WHY. I wanted every family with a loved one in a senior living community to have that same experience — their person treated with as much love and intentionality as my mother was.
